New Year, New You - Raspberry and Banana breakfast smoothie

Those who read my food blog will probably think of me as and unhealthy bread eating, cake munching, overweight foodie. The reality is that, whilst I do enjoy a good cake as much as the next man, I do like to try and look after myself. I do and awful lot of running round in my busy life, from running round a busy kitchen for 12 hours a day to running after a hyper 3 year old on my days off and if that is not enough I am also in training for the Paris marathon in April this year. When I get in from my Sunday morning 20 mile run this is what I reach for to help me recover and set me up for the day. Packed full of natural sugars, carbohydrates and full of fibre and most importantly full of flavor this smoothie recipe will get you back on your feet after any workout (or night out).

100g low fat natural yoghurt

100g semi skimmed milk

100g frozen raspberries

1 banana

25g rolled oats

1 tbls honey

½ tsp vanilla paste

All you need to do for this smoothie is throw everything in blender and wizz it up until smooth, then enjoy
